Restoration Technician 

We are now hiring full time Restoration Technicians at our Centre Hall location servicing Centre, Clinton & Mifflin Counties.  Our dedicated team of STOP Restoration Technicians help families in our local community affected by FIRE, WATER, SMOKE, and MOLD.  

If you are curious what a day as a Restoration Technician is like, here are just a few things to expect.  Our technicians work at a different job site mostly every day of the week.  There is rarely a dull day.  Working in an emergency service field like ours requires urgency, problem solving, and compassion for our customers.   

The most successful Restoration Technicians are eager to develop skills and earn the opportunity to become IICRC Certified and become true “Masters of Disaster”.  Restoration methods are science backed and take time to learn and develop.  Many of our technicians have started without any experience in the restoration field.  However, with the right attitude and a desire to learn, we can get you the skills you need to develop your career in this demanding field.   

STOP Restoration Technicians report to the office in Centre Hall, PA.  Typical hours are 7:30am to 4:00pm on weekdays.  However, after hours and weekend hours are rotated between the technicians.
 
Responsibilities include:
  • Inspect properties damaged by water, smoke, fire and mold.  Determine the best course of action for mitigation.
  • Meet with the homeowner presenting job folder and mitigation plan.  Explain our process and answer questions.  Present required paperwork and collect signatures.
  • Sketch layout of rooms and put a detailed scope together for the estimator. 
  • Plan, strategize, and problem solve throughout the project. 
  • Document projects to completion using software and mobile apps.  This includes taking photos, job notes, monitoring and equipment tracking, and tracking progress to completion.
  • Ensure project complies with all insurance requirements.
  • Mitigation Activities including - Fire/Soot/Smoke Clean Up.  Water Extraction & Drying.  Mold Remediation.  Demolition of damaged materials.  Moving furniture and appliances when necessary. 
  • Follow PPE, job site & safety protocols. 
  • Consistently develop skills and complete all required job training. 
  • Clean and maintain drying equipment.
  • Drive company vehicle responsibly. Clean and maintain daily.
Requirements:
  • Work history must include a job in a labor-intensive field.  Construction is a plus!
  • Ability to work in dirty and sometimes toxic environments that require PPE.  
  • Ability to lift heavy equipment and move furniture
  • PA Driver’s License and a good driving record.  Our Restoration Technicians are required to drive company vehicles.  
  • Must complete a successful background check.  
  • Available to work weekdays 7:30-4:00 and after-hours when needed. This includes taking part in our rotating On-Call Schedule for After Hours/Weekends.
  • Comfortable using software apps.  Our technicians take pictures, enter job notes and equipment readings.
  • Friendly & professional demeanor.  Customer Service Experience or Retail Experience is also a plus.    
  • Great attitude & a willingness to learn something new every day!
Compensation & Incentives 
  • Hourly rate of $ 20 - $ 22 per hour.  A Restoration Technician can expect to earn $ 45,000 to $ 52,000 their first year of employment.
  • Monthly Performance based Bonuses - typically $ 200-$ 300 per month
  • After-Hours Bonus of $ 150 for each after-hours job performed during On-Call rotation
  • SIGN ON BONUS of $ 250 after successful completion of 90 day probationary period.
